    November 1 marks the independence anniversary of the present day Gilgit-Baltistan. On this day in 1947, a handful number of Gilgit Scouts rebelled against the Dogras and successfully achieved independence for the region from Dogra Raj. 71 years have passed but Gilgit-Baltistan is yet to become a constitutional part of Pakistan.
