It was 2:00 AM on a bone-chilling long vacation night, the kind where the freezing cold dissuades anyone from daring to expose even a single body part outside the warmth of a sleeping bag. Despite the bitter cold, I ventured out. I had made plans to visit the Hon Pass with a few friends, eager to witness the first light of dawn grace the breathtaking mountains encircling the Hunza and Nagar Valleys.
